Choose the Bible software that fits your study
e-Sword is a well-established Bible study program. Exegis is not affiliated with, endorsed by or a replacement product from e-Sword. It is an independently developed option for people comparing free Bible study software and deciding which interface, platforms and resource workflow suit them.
Exegis keeps the current Bible passage central. On Windows, Scripture can remain visible beside commentary or study resources. On Android, bottom navigation moves among Bible reading, commentary, dictionaries, lexicons, books, topics and downloadable packs.
What distinguishes the Exegis approach?
- Free Windows installer and Android APK from public releases
- KJV+ with linked Hebrew and Greek Strong’s numbers
- Word Study with occurrences organized by biblical book
- Commentary references linked to the active Bible
- Highlights shared across installed Bible versions
- Individually installable and removable resource modules
- Optional AI Study Assistant using a provider configured by the user
- Multiple reading themes and adjustable fonts
Offline study with optional online services
Installed Bible-study resources remain available locally, making Exegis useful where connectivity is limited or costly. Internet access is still required to download modules and application updates, and cloud AI providers require their own connection and credentials.
